Attached is a story of the Bass Family that begins in Ontario, where Richard Bass married Harriet Ruller, (daughter of William George Ruller and Eliza Holgate), and continues into Manitoba and Saskatchewan. First Richard and Harriet's son Emerson emigrated to Manitoba in 1891 and his parents and siblings followed in 1899. This story contains a wealth of pioneer information and history and provides an interesting account of life on the praries from 1980 onward.
The story was written by James E. Bass, Harriet Ruller's grandson, and originally appeared in the book “Pioneers of Grandview”, published by Pioneer Book Committee, printed by Carillon Press, Steinbach, Manitoba, copyright 1976
The attached version was scanned from a hard copy of the orginal text, using Optical Character Recognition software, and editied to correct any flaws in recognition. The result is a digital "Word" document, that can be copied to your own computer and printed etc.
